Powerful International Presentations:
Profit from Your Message
Purpose of the workshop:
To enable delegates to become effective in confidently communicating their message, to present, to adapt to their international audience, to hold them, and ensure that their message is the one that will be retained in any situation.
Workshop Overview
Effective business presentation makes the difference – if people listen to you, and you can hold their attention, you will have the edge to be more successful.
When you can convey your message to a formal audience, you will be effective in any situation, in a one-to-one or group meeting, whether in sales, technical support, engineering, customer service, or finance; in all aspects of domestic and international business, from large to small audiences, formal or casual.
With real-time practice, DVD video recording and feedback sessions, you will know how to give a powerful presentation with a buzz, not butterflies™ .
Attendees make two presentations during the day, are DVD video recorded and receive group feedback. The video is watched immediately after, enabling the attendee to see, understand and discuss their performances, understanding their strengths and opportunities for development.
Delivering powerful presentations requires knowledge, confidence and understanding of:
- Preparation, problems and pitfalls: research, structure, level of detail, practising, knowing your audience.
- Staging the presentation: location, set-up, equipment, logistics.
- Delivering the presentation: self-awareness, pace, volume, timing, handling questions, handling the audience, adapting to the audience.
- How not to present: Rules of don’t…™.
- Handling nerves: being confident in yourself, your performance, your message and your knowledge.
Maximum number of delegates: Six
Workshop duration: One day
Who should attend:
This workshop is relevant to anyone who wishes to improve their current presentation skills, or is new to business presentations.
Holding a course where attendees have varying degrees of experience means that the more experienced presenters re-acquaint themselves with the basics, whilst people new to presentations can develop confidence and experience from early on.
Workshop style and format:
Facilitator led discussion and instruction with a very high level of delegate presentation, ensuring that delegates gain practical experience from “learning by doing”. Examples and feedback are focused on getting the message across in the international environment with a focus on the cultural alignment and expectations.
Delegates make two presentations to all other delegates to give them an opportunity to practise and hone their presentation skills using techniques and experience gained during the day. The two presentations are recorded on DVD and the delegates receive feedback. The main elements of the presentations are watched immediately after, in the group, enabling delegates to discuss their performances and understand their strengths.
Delegates also benefit from the confidence gained through feedback and seeing their own improvement, as well as learning from the experience of all other delegates and that of the facilitator.
Delegate Preparation
In advance of the course, delegates are asked to prepare two presentations:
- The first should be for approximately 5 minutes, and can be on a topic of their choice - a hobby, an interest or on a business topic.
- The second should last for approximately 10 minutes and should be on a business related issue; perhaps on a topic that they will be presenting in the future.
It is important that delegates prepare in advance as there will be no spare time during the course.
